We warmly welcome you to the Finomhangoló Workshop, where we specialize in supporting children and adults who struggle with eating and feeding difficulties, as well as eating disorders (ARFID). In our work, we have found that these processes require the assistance of professionals who have an in-depth understanding of the unique needs of “neurodivergent” individuals and the challenges that arise from aligning with the neurotypical environment around them. The name reflects our aim to create harmony between individuals with unique neurological profiles and their surroundings. Our goal is not to “rewrite” or change the nervous system of those affected, but to facilitate better attunement. In this process, we work to help neurodivergent individuals increase their flexibility, become more open to new tastes, and express their own needs more effectively. At the same time, we support changes in the physical environment and in the mindset of the families or educators around them, so that eating can become a joyful and enjoyable activity in everyday life.
ARFID, or selective eating, is rooted in differences in sensory perception and processing. During therapy, our aim is to map these neurological characteristics, not to change them. Creating a safe and calming environment—both in therapy and at home—is essential. This stable foundation allows those affected to feel at ease and to approach new stimuli and foods with greater confidence. The process usually unfolds over the long term, in small steps, requiring consistency, perseverance, and a great deal of flexibility.
After the initial interview, we take a detailed case history, followed by an assessment of the sensory profile using questionnaires and, in some cases, video analysis. Each case is unique; therefore, there is no universal therapy, and individual characteristics are always taken into account. To ensure successful exposure to new stimuli—whether visual, olfactory, taste-related, or textural—we offer play therapy, family or couples therapy, special education support, and dietary counseling.
We provide participants and their family members with practical guidance on how to make getting to know new foods and stimuli easier and more enjoyable. If eating difficulties affect the functioning of the whole family, we also offer family therapy to support the development of harmony and mutual understanding. Our goal is for those who turn to us to feel safe and, within their possibilities, to enjoy meals, while their environment understands and accepts their individual characteristics. We believe it is important for the entire family or community to grow together, working harmoniously toward establishing healthy and joyful eating experiences.

We work as a team of child and adult psychologists, and we also collaborate with a special education professional (https://www.zummogokorai.hu) and a dietitian (https://www.instagram.com/major.diet).
We have developed a unified treatment plan that we all follow, ensuring that throughout the assessment and therapy process, everyone who turns to us receives the same high standard of care. The foundations of our therapeutic approach are attentiveness to individual differences, conscientiousness, and the application of evidence-based therapeutic methods.
